Rio Tinto Iron and Titanium exhibited at the 109th
Casting Congress and CastExpo held in St. Louis, Missouri between April
16-19. The booth contained literature pertaining to Sorelmetal and RBM Zircon
and Rutile. Numerous examples of technical publications surrounding
Ductile Iron production and marketing were also showcased.
A golf theme was chosen and six
participants in a putting contest were randomly selected to receive a
Cleveland CG 10 series golf wedge. The winning entrants were:

- Mr. Jim Murphy of Cumberland Foundry,
- Mr. Steve Reynolds of Lufkin Industries,
- Mr. Kim Bevington of Elyria Foundry,
- Mr. Ike Wall of Monarch Foundry.
The CastExpo, a triannual event, was
merged with the annual convention and show for the North American
Diecasting Association for the first time in 2005. Exhibitors of
molding machines, sand handling equipment, melting equipment, raw
materials, casting handling equipment as well as melt materials and
consumables occupied 160,000 square feet of floor space making this the
largest CastExpo ever. Over 10,000 foundrypersons attended the four day
event. Also featured were more than 150 technical presentations by an
international delegation of authors.
Rio Tinto was represented by twelve
members of technical services and marketing from North America, Europe,
South Africa and Asia. |
