In Respect of the Environment

To ensure environmental protection, Rio Tinto has adopted stringent ecological rules and regulations for all its operations. This applies to all QIT - Fer et Titane Inc. installations in Canada, as well as all Richards Bay Titanium (RBM) mining and smelting operations in South Africa. QIT obtained the ISO 14001 certification in 2001 while RBM is certified since 1996.
